The chat request timeout is a timer that counts down how long a chat visitor waits in the queue after requesting a chat before the request times out. The timeout period can be defined in the Account Dashboard. Once a request times out, the visitor is notified the request was unanswered and has the option to remain in the queue, email an offline message or close the chat request window.
Timed out chat requests are filed as a missed request within the OCC account.
